Born as a commercial port, over the years the port of Castellamare di Stabia has changed its vocation, developing around two main fronts: shipbuilding which, thanks to the historical presence of Fincantieri, guarantees income and employment for a part of the city and its surroundings ; yachting specializing in the megayacht and gigayacht market segment.
In favor of the nautical sector, the proximity to the Sorrento coast and the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Tourism is therefore the other part of the port development of Castellamare di Stabia, which also explains the increase in passengers with fast connections to Sorrento and Capri.
For the moment, sea connections are guaranteed only from April to October.
